King Alexander was murdered in 1903. The murder had probably been ordered by Peter Karageorgevic, who succeeded him to the throne. When a first stamp with his picture was issued, the engraver hid the face of the dead king, somewhere in the stamp. To see it, the stamp has to be put upside down. |
