Not correct franking
This letter was sent back because de additional 3c franking for airmail was missing. A second 3c stamp solved the problem, and was cancelled with a double oval postmark.

This letter, posted in Los Angeles with destination in the same city, arrived more than 15 months later. A mark on the cover tells us that a criminal action was taken for delay !

Not quite intelligent
Mentioning on the cover that the letter contains a bankcheque, is really asking for trouble. 'Received in bad condition' tells a mark, what could be interpreted as 'WE did not steel it' !

Escaped from fire
A red postmark with the mention 'Salvaged mail - Aircraft crash - Singapore 13.3.54' was affixed on this letter that escaped the fire when the BOAC Lockheed Constellation coming from Sydney crashed in 1954 on Kallang airport in Singapore.
